Good news for hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts! The Catwalk Trail is re-opening at long last after being closed for several years due to flood damage. The Glenwood Community home page says there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, May 28th at 10:00 am.

At first it seemed odd to see "Cemetery Tours" on that Corrales Heritage Day poster. Then I got to thinking about the broader meaning of the word "heritage."

Here is another Cemetery Event in conjunction with this Memorial Day, at historic Fort Stanton in Lincoln County. This cemetery has now been designated as one of four state Veteran's Cemeteries. It had been a source of controversy previously as to who qualified to be buried in the 117-year-old cemetery.

Now:
Quote:
Fort Stanton State Veterans' Cemetery is the first of the four new cemeteries to be constructed, to be followed by Gallup, Angel Fire and Carlsbad.
