Default Carrizozo Art Studio annual tour event...

Carrizozo is the sleepy small town that has been trying very hard in recent years to revive itself as the seat of Lincoln County, NM. Attracting various artists to take up residence there has met with a good deal of success, but like all such endeavors, it waxes and wanes with the overall economic conditions.

This weekend, Aug. 13-14, is the annual Artist's Studio Tour event.Today's cover of the Ruidoso News event magazine "Vamonos" features the art work of one such artist who moved to Carrizozo a few years ago from San Diego to take up residence - Rick Geary.

Vamanos Magazine and Artist Features

Besides doing the cover for the magazine this week, there is a 2-page article about Geary inside the magazine.

I will be at the Balloon Fiesta for the first time next week.

Any regulars to this board have any tips or suggestions? Arriving VERY late on 10/6, will spend 10/7 in Albuquerque before heading to Santa Fa/Abiquiu for Robert Mirabal concert.

I use to be on a balloon crew, but I would not be much help to you now, but you might go to their site: http://balloonfiesta.com/ and also read this post: https://www.city-data.com/forum/albuq...oon-title.html
