I do have a bicycle but I haven't ridden it since I've been in Timberon. I can ride on the airstrip but I won't ride on the gravel here, not necessarily because of dogs but some of the people here drive crazy on these roads (I've noticed as I've been out walking) and I need to be able to get out of the way quickly.
The airstrip is straight though so I figured I wouldn 't get much out of riding a bicycle on it is the reason I haven't done it.
I'm one of these people that think that if it doesn't make me breathe hard or sweat, I'm wasting my time.

Why all the "loose" dogs?

Because it's a tiny, isolated mountain community with no ordinances. It has fewer than 400 year-around residents.

Dogs need freedom every once in awhile and they get it here.
No laws saying to keep dogs chained up or boxed up all day.

We have 2 dogs but we have several dogs that hang out in our yard daily.
We don't feed the strays so sometimes I wonder why they stick around.
