State of New Mexico

My biggest interest was Brian Moore, its disappointing to see him not do better but has done us proud.

Well one thing for sure is that not only the next Gov will be a woman but also from southern New Mexico as Martinez is from Las Cruces and Denish is from Hobbs and so hopefully we in southern new mexico will have a voice up in Santa Fe as the last true southern govenor was Apodaca from 75-79.

Straight Republican ticket here, that is, if I am still living here when the elections go down!

You and me both, Mike, except mine is probably going to take a lot longer.

I have to, unfortunately. I have an incredible job offer in St.Louis, and I can't turn it down. I'd like for it to come to me, but it's not possible. The silver lining, though, is that I will likely be able to come back here to Las Cruces in 3 years, if we want to.

Understood Mike. Why do we live in the ABQ area? My wife was given a generous bonus, prommotion and the move was paid for. I waited 20+ years to come back out to the Southwest...

Brian Moore for Lt Governor? I'm not sure about that position yet. Not sure if he has the exposure of the entire state...

I think I'll set myself in the Anti-Incumbent camp and then adjust as necessary
based on individual cases. We're both registered Democrats but didn't feel that we
knew enough to make good choices in the primary so we sat it out. Now that the
fields are narrowed, we'll start digging.. and we'll vote for whoever we think is best
regardless of party affiliation.

We're already leaning toward Martinez over Demish..

I don't vote a straight ticket just for the sake of voting a straight ticket, but when I look over the choices during the General Election, it usually ends up being just that.

I have a feeling that it's going to be tight between Pearce (who originally gave up the seat he just won back in yesterday's primary to run for the senate) and Teague for Dist 2 rep.

Teague lost me completely when he voted for cap-and-trade. As a businessman who has an oil-related business, (oilfield services, if I remember correctly), it surprised me that he would toe the party line and vote for that.

Teague would have to be running against a diehard ultra-liberal before he would ever get my vote. I like some of his other positions, but not that particular one.
