Here's an unrelated question; is there a store like Ragstock in New Orleans? If you're not familiar with Ragstock it's a shop that sells trendy but inexpensive clothing in limited quantities. I like to shop, but I don't like to spend a lot of money.

Default As The World Should Be ... Accepting!

Not that I am trans, but I am gay -- and this make my heart happy to read!

I know a few transmen down there and they haven't had any issues besides the typical coming-out family thing. I saw many transgender people downtown, in Bourbon particularly, as well. There's a big LGBT nightlife scene out there. There are some anti-LGBT people there; it's the South, and there's old Repubican evangelicals and stuff, and sometimes they come with those "find Jesus" signs into Bourbon, but nobody really pays attention to them.

Good luck!!! I hope you find somewhere wonderful!

There's an H&M in the French Quarter and a Buffalo Exchange Uptown. Plus a number of second hand clothing shops where you may find something you like.

Thanks rawrockills! I'm familiar with H&M and Buffalo Exchange, so those will be some good stores for me to shop! And I love second hand stores in general. Interior decorating is one of my hobbies and I always check out the local second hand stores for good finds. I love shopping, so thanks again.

My boyfriend will probably be moving with me and will need to find a job he does mainly labor work. What industry is the biggest or easiest to break into? Also is there much day labor available for starters? Thanks!
