Congrats, Peaches! That’s a fantastic number!

As for the occupancy of a one-bedroom, the PDF says “one to three persons.”

I would also like to know about certified mail! I assume it’s okay. There’s nothing on the application that says you can’t use certified mail.

I just called the office, and it's okay to mail the application in using certified mail. The person on the phone said to make sure we include a certified check or money order. I guess some people are forgetting about the fee or using personal checks.

I have so many questions about this, but I didn't want to take up the woman's time, so I just asked this and said goodbye! She seemed very nice. I'm sure they're inundated with questions.

I should have asked her when they are going to stop using the 2010 list and switch to the new one!

If you make more than the maximum income for the apartment can you get in the building anyway and just pay a surcharge. Penn South allows it.
Also, can you defer your application if you are not ready to live there. I am thinking more for my retirement.
Also, Also (LOL) is this a good place for seniors to live in
Thanks
MM

Yes re: surcharge.

No re: deferment. Most ML's don't allow you to defer and if they do they only let you put it on hold for a year or two. It's not the best idea to apply for an ML hoping for a retirement policy because you're called when you're called.

Someone on this thread posted that his mom applied for the apartment and put him on the application with her, and he was able to get in that way.

Can that person confirm what documentation you needed to make this transfer? I applied to PS and so did my dad, so if my dad gets a log and I don't I wonder if he can add me to his initial application and then sign it over to me like the person in this thread did.

Thanks!

Yeah, so far between this thread and another thread on this site related to the same building, I have only read about either people with a disability preference or cb preference being called for interviews. And if the information someone posted recently stating that only 9 tenants have moved in is accurate, they still got a long ways to go!

THANKS shady
I just figured it would take so long to get the apartment I will be close to retirement or retired by then. I live downtown Manhattan and on the fence about moving to Brooklyn but I sent in my money anyway. Better to have the opportunity to say No than not have the opportunity at all.
I am hoping to get on Penn South because I prefer to stay in Manhattan.
Cheers!!

I just spoke to someone in the office, and she said they're at the very end of the 2010 list. When I asked if my number, which is under 100, would be called within 3 years, she was pretty certain it would be. She also said the carrying charge range depends on how high the floor is, noting the higher the floor, the higher the charge.

That's good news, Zach! Thanks for asking that question about when the list would be put into effect.

Awesome! So I am wondering if someone with a number in the 200s will be called within 3 years too. Lots of 200s logs here.
