That information is really sensible and helpful. Thank you! I need to ask for some help on residency while you are on the list. I currently live in Manhattan and am planning to move to Queens (to save money for a few years while I wait). I know NYC residency is required, but does the borough matter?
According to macnyc2003, "MollieMay said she was called to view one-bedrooms when she was in the mid-65s on that list."
What happens to those 60+ applicants ahead of MollieMay? Can we assume that they are not interested (but somehow they are still listed as active on the external applicant lists)?
I am currently in the low 100s, can I assume that there are only 40+ applicants ahead of me? If so, I will be very happy.
I assume those 60 people ahead of MollieMay didn’t reply to Penn South for whatever reason: no longer interested, moved, died, didn’t have the money, etc.
I would say you have an excellent chance of being called in the next six months.

They're making you view 20+ apartments at a time, so I assume they are showing to 20+ people at a time.

Also I don't understand why they would still be on the list as "active" if that's the case because my letter said if they didn't hear from me within a week of the sent date of the letter (which is a joke these days as it often takes me 6 weeks to receive my mail), that they would remove me from the list.
1) Does Penn South contact people by email and regular mail?
2) Do they ever ask to see your current residence? (My brother was on a ML list and 10 years ago when he was called, they requested to see his current lease and apartment.)
