Well I'm sending good vibes and luck your way that you get called for something before your lease ends! Fingers crossed!

You're welcome! Small update... I got a phone call from the office. The lady told me that my income was like $1400 under the income limit for the 2 bdrm but that my income was within the limits for the 1 bdrm. I told her I didn't want to consider a 1 bdrm because I'm already in a 1 bdrm. She told me she would go over my financials to see if I could qualify for the 2 bdrm and call me back. She called me back and left a voicemail asking if I could come in tomorrow for an interview since I missed the call. I returned the call but couldn't get her back, maybe she went home for the day? I'll update if she calls me back tomorrow!

Update: I did hear back from her and she wants me to come in this afternoon to look at a 2 bdrm. I find it odd that they're showing the unit first before sending my file to HDC but I'll go check it out and let you guys know how it goes!

Thanks Heyworld20! So I went and they showed me two different 2 bedroom apartments. She talked my ears off and distracted me from taking pics of the actual unit, sorry! But i did snap a few flicks of the building which you can view here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/193727.../shares/9i53T1

The first unit had a walk in closet and the bathroom situated right after you come in the front door. A few steps in and the 2 bedrooms were right there next to each other then a few steps to the left was the living room kitchenette combo. Living room and kitchen was small, she said that was due to the big walk in closet. Appliances were black, not stainless steel, it was an okay apartment.

The second unit was on the top floor and was much more spacious however it didn't have the walk in closet, just 2 small ones (a linen closet with shelfs and a regular small closet) and in both units there is a closet in each bedroom. The bedrooms in the second unit were not next to each other: 1 was by the front door, the other was next to the living room. The building was quiet, no weird smells, and the block seems calm as it's right across the street from a large school campus. In terms of stores, there's not much over there. If you walk to 156th there is a beauty salon, Spanish restaurant, and bodega. Closest transportation is the bx 1 and bx 2 buses right on the corner of 156th. No trains nearby, you'd have to walk or take one of those buses over to 149th and grand concourse to pick up the 2 or 5 trains and I believe you can also walk to 161st to pick up the D train but I didn't venture that far.

There's a concession going on right now where they'd offer me the apartment for $300 less than the regular rent of $1874 for the first year. The second year the rent would go up to $1874. She told me to mull it over and get back to her tomorrow before she sends off my file, but I feel that the rent is too high for that area. She did tell me that the top floor is completely empty and a couple of other units are vacant on lower floors but otherwise the building is full. I saw 3 different tenants coming and going while i was there. Hope this gives you guys some insight and good luck to those waiting to hear back!

I was also invited last week Friday to view some apartments. I was shown 2 apartments and was told that my file will be sent to the city for final review, she said to expect something back in 5 to 10 business days. She also mentioned about the rent concessions
