Hello my city data Ppl today is April 27 two days from now would make 9 months that I’ve been on a Brooklyn development certified waiting list I can not wait for the day I get that call to see a unit in move in my son has been asking me for his own room now
yes its very much frustrating and i hope we all get into our places by next month so we can be in our own for the summer way before the holidays comes back around
I just change my development list to another one after being on the certified waiting list for a 2bd in Grant houses since April 2015. I see everyone complain about waiting a few months here and there, but I had applied for NYCHA back in May 2012. Got called for an interview in January 2015 to see if I'm eligible for a 1 bd. At the time, my daughter was 5 years old and got certified. After she turned 6, I got another call from NYCHA saying that they bump me up to a waiting list for 2 bd. Now over 6 years later, still waiting to be called to see an apartment. I was on a W1 waiting list but then the average gross around that development changed, and they bump me down to W2. Fearing that will make me wait for more, I was told that the Working Family listing is different and it really goes by the average income gross of what families make around that area and since the area's income average got higher, that's why it changed. It doesn't affect my place on the list. But after constant checking and calling and dealing with rude management from the development, I saw in my account that I was eligible to change to a different development. So now I am on the waiting list for a 2 bd in Baruch Houses. Maybe I did a mistake by changing it and get placed on the bottom of the list, or maybe finally, I get lucky to get called to see an apartment sooner, but my whole process in total has been in 9 years and counting, what else can I do but wait. I waited this far.
