Yeah, I’m only interested in Plank and Brooklyn Crossing. I refuse to pay over $2500. If it’s 2700 and factor in utilities and amenities fee, you can easily pay close to or over 3K in rent.
I’m spoiled in my area now. Livingston is down the street but I find both that street and Fulton (where Boerum is) sketchy for me personally. Yes, the buildings are all great, but I only care about the gym and in unit washer/dryer.
I just got an email about Willoughby and Brooklyn Crossing from MHANY.
Very true! Thats a nice part to be in. Im not living in the neighborhood right now but the neighborhood Willoughby is in seems nice. Willing to make that move. Yes right outside jay st metro tech train is pretty rough to me... Ive not been since 2019 though so might be different. But the bourough hall area is much better imh...
What did they say about Willoughby and Brooklyn Crossing??

I wonder how they determine the rent because there's barely any difference between all 3 of these buildings yet the rent is quite different.. that's all I care about too lol laundry and gym. Don't need much else.
Also, curious as to which area you found sketchy. I used to work around 1 Boerum a few years ago and it was fine but I was never there late into the evening.

Yeah; they’re all in my neighborhood so I’m a bit more harsh in my judgement.

I don’t get it myself. Aside from the street and rent, I find Plank and Brooklyn Crossing way more appealing anyway.
I’m not a fan of Fulton Street early morning or late evening (sometimes questionable characters). Early pandemic (spring/summer) I would go for walks at 6:00/6:30 in the mornings to Brooklyn Bridge Park before I had to log in for work. I made sure I had pepper spray, just felt like I needed to constantly be on edge, but just on that strip. May be different for guys though…
The Livingston building is nice but I find that street a bit dark, questionable characters the few times I walk down there, other times worse than others. I’m sure it will change with the building.
Btw, I’m not trying to shade anywhere, I live in the area, so I’m going by what’s more appealing to me on a personal level and I admit, I’m a little spoiled because of it.

I was just asking out of curiosity. I don't think any of us here are hating the area as a whole (didn't think you were hating, don't worry).
I applied to Plank Road and I'm really hoping for a low log number. I know what you mean about Fulton. During the day it's busy and doesn't feel too bad but I do remember the streetlights being pretty dim. The area has everything you would need and it's super convenient. Also, I'm a girl, not that it matters
I don’t think there are preferences for this lottery (besides NY residents)… if there were, I would be a resident of the community board! Ugh, it kills me!! Bad news for me, good news for everyone else, though!
EDIT: Whoops, misunderstood—thought you were saying that you had no preferences, not that the building didn’t have apts for people w/ preferences, ha

Yeah, this is the one time CB would have been great for me with this and Brooklyn Crossing…
