I think its because for this building, your documents are being submitted to HPD first and then if you're approved, you get to view the apartment. However, with other buildings... you're able to see the apartments first and if you want it, your documents are THEN submitted to HPD. I went to see an apartment today and I got to see 3 different apartments (all different layouts). One Harlem is the first building where I've had to submit all my docs for HPD before seeing the apartment.
So you saw 3 units at one east harlem? what was your log? and did you have preferences? i actually like this way cos once approved you are closer to the lease!!!!

No, not for this apartment yet. The person assigned to me has been asking me for soooo much documentation back and forth but I get it and she's been super nice about everything. I'm hoping the next step will be going to see the apartment. Yesterday, I saw 88 Linden. It wasn't bad but I don't think I want it. I'm 6xxx for One Harlem so I'm still shocked they got to me. No preferences.
Is there a way to contact them? I have a 6xxx log# I don't want to be skipped.
there are people in here with 2 digit logs that have been skipped so far, not sure how this agency is processing the applications but i thought they ask the lowest for documents then go up but apparently they pick who they assume makes most money and ignore people with a low ami.... that's how it seems.

maybe you are misreading what i am saying, as someone stated the building has been contacting higher AMI's and people with higher logs, if you read the prior posts MANY people with lower logs have not been contacted. There is nothing misleading about facts.

They usually contact preferences first. You said they contact people with higher incomes and forget about lower income people. You’re wrong because you have no proof of that and you’re making things up.

As of lately they have been contacting people with no preference just higher logs and higher AMI's.... what is being made up about that?... again re-read this thread before dismissing people's experience.
