So far, the choices are:

Bangkok House
Pongsri
Yum Yum
Qi

Which of these is best? Are there others we should consider. We don't want a dump.

Thanks.

The only one of those where I've eaten is Pongsri. It's been around at least 25 years which is probably a good sign. I looked at their menu last week (headed to the Vietnamese restaurant right next door to them) and it looked good.
My favorite Thai place in the area is actually Pam Real Thai food which is cheaper but it's near 9th Ave. so a long block away from the theaters Pam Real Thai Food - Hell's Kitchen - New York, NY

I like TOPAZ on W. 56th St. (behind City Center Theater)

Warning, if you get there past 6PM you WILL wait in line.
The place is very popular becasue it is very reasonably priced.
(A pretty place too.)

I'd go with Pongsri. The dishes are pretty good and they have an extensive menu!

I actually tried Qi recently and was very pleasantly surprised for the proximity to Times Square. We really enjoyed our meal there. It's the sister restaurant to the other Thai restaurant called Room Service (one on 9th in the 50s). The food was actually very good.

Also agree with Kefir on Topaz as well. It's between 6th and 7th Avenue.

As for Yum Yum, there's what, three in a row? on 9th Avenue. I ate twice and was never impressed.

Thanks - it will probably be Qi or Pongsri. It's for lunch and Topaz is a bit far. We're coming from 34th and 8th (Boltbus stop). So, we will pass Qi and we're seeing The Lyons on West 48th Street, cose to Pongsri.
