Peter Pan Bus Lines have resumed all service in and out of NYC today/Friday, November 2nd.

Food/water distribution centers will open today, tomorrow and Sunday 1-5PM in Chinatown, The Rockaways and Staten Island (according to CBS).

From Mayor Bloomberg's latest briefing:

Color coded placards have been placed on homes after home inspections. Red placards posted on homes means do not enter the home as it is dangerous (not that the home needs to destroyed).

41 NYers have died.

Coney Island, South Shore of Staten Island, the Far Rockaways and Chinatown have distribution centers for food/water and will be kept open as long as needed. People need to bring their own bags to carry the food/water given to them.

AT&T has placed pods in Zone A to help people recharge their cellphones and to help cellphone coverage.

The NY Roadrunners club has contributed money to help with NYC's recovery. They are asking their marathon runners to donate further.

NYers are being asking to give blood if possible.

Staten Island ferry will be back on its full schedule tomorrow as it resumed service today.

Holland Tunnel is open on with limited access for commercial vehicles only.

460,000 Con Edison customers still are without power.

People in Breezy Point need to boil water before using it or drink boiled water. For everyone else, NYC water is safe.

There are now 15 shelters with evacuated people. These will remain open for people who need them.

Even more from Mayor Bloomberg's latest briefing:

NYC Public schools will open on Monday.

Tomorrow work will begin on the crane on West 57th Street so people can return home by Monday night.

The majority of parks and playgrounds will be open this weekend. Where parks are still closed, people are asked to stay out for their safety.

Beaches are closed and people are asked to stay off the beaches. There is a lot debris there.
