I grew up not too far from Sheepshead Bay in Manhattan Beach - in an apartment building right on the water. I can't imagine what's there now. I just visted the area last month and drove right by the Emmons Deli. . I keep looking online to see if there are any pictures - these were the closest ones to the area I've seen so far.

The Enterprise Space Shuttle attached to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space museum has sustained damage due to Sandy. Most of the damage seems to be the tail of the Enterprise.
