Yuppies taking over? (New York, York, Darien: apartments, condo, townhouses)

Depends on the nabe. Williamsburg, which was once a forlorn nowhere land, is loaded with white kids. Where are they coming from? Maybe I'm wrong, but I picture a rich kid from Ohio who went to a liberal arts college like Bard or Vassar. His parents paid 100% of the tuition and living expenses, and are currently paying his $1,300 rent for his crappy 1-bedroom share in a tenement plus $500/month "allowance." He gets to sleep late, dress cool, go to hip places, and call himself an "artist."

It's fun to generalize.

Yuppies are their own subset. Murray Hill for instance is considered a Yuppie neighborhood.
