A very early recollection, maybe 1970ish, I was riding the A train from Rockaway and the train bucked so hard I was thrown from the slippery seat into the aisle.
Soon after that ride the cars disappeared.

Go to 'nycsubway.org' they have info on all the old lines and which cars were used with pages of great pictues of stations and cars. Including the BMT cars with wicker. I used the picture of my old stop as my pc wallpaper for years.
The only thing more fun than the ceiling fans in the cars was when the wicker seats started to shred and as a kid you went sliding across them in shorts and you ripped the skin off your legs, good times.
