I'm aware of what nycers websites says for all of tier 6 but they seemed sure that you guys are wrong about something or other in your understanding of stuff

Yeah well I notice nycers has a tier 6 plan that talks of OT caps and an SA 22 sanitation plan that doesnt say anything about caps. (But goes on and on about the ss offset). I suddenly have the strange feeling most tier 6 guys have no actual clue what's pensionable for them lol

Tier 6 guys should get a class action lawsuit going if they have a firm belief that it is illegal and remove the offset provision.
I don't know how it is or isn't legal though.

As said before I'm sure all of this talk will heat up when a higher percentage of the force is tier 6, for now maybe 10% is tier 6, once tier 4 guys start hanging up and we get a majority of the force tier 6 watch how much this teir stuff starts coming up.

And as for the guy asking about his score; no scores yet, don't expect anything until about August/September.

If it sticks, we at least got a shot with clearing and delayed collection. I hope we get Sunday and some OT tonight.

well if you pay into both the pension and social security, where does the state get the idea they can suddenly pay you less than before because your old enough to draw social security?

You're not getting less from social security. Its the pension that will be reduced by half of the ss amount. . Shocked that the union didn't fight this harder. . The city was going broke paying nyc pensions for guys retiring in their 40s, but still this is so extreme that i cant help but feel it violates some rule. . This is the only part of tier 6 i think u guys might have a prayer of fighting
