yeah but last time i thought the whole "there is no class in november, there has never been one and there won't be one" thing was a pretty confirming answer lol
i hear ya.. but u guys also say u never know what to expect with the city.. hey they added 50 new hires to the anticipated 450 this year.. but if ur that confident about no november, ill accept ur answer
Yeah but that was two months before they had to hire them...not a week before they'd have to do fp lol. I'd have heard at least a rumor and I've honestly never heard anything of except here from whoever you heard it from. Last year there were rumors of a 5th class but it never materialized.
ok i'll tell you what....if you hate the idea of union dues, we'll see if maybe we can get you out of paying for them. However you'll lose everything that the union provides so you can come to work but you won't get paid holidays and you'll make minimum wage, you can barter your own sick days, and if you screw up in your 22 years, sorry but you're fired.
You want to save money, buy in bulk at costco and cut coupons. Also you can opt out of your medical insurance if you wish for extra money in your paycheck.
Lmao got ya .. loud and clear was not thinking about that part .. thxs
Hey I'm currently working at another city agency but I'm thinking of making the switch to sanitation but I have questions about the OT. I'm sure the answer is somewhere in this thread, so if you guys discuses this already I apologize in advance. How is the ot? Does it vary by garage? Or is there some kind of central overtime pool? Is it forced or mandatory OT? I assume voluntary OT goes by seniority? And if so can newbies get any?
The only steady OT is during and after snow because we are doing 2 jobs at once. Most times during the rest of the year there is none. It goes by seniority. Some garages you get forced on OT and some you can't touch it unless you have 15 years on. Bottomline is other than snow, don't count on it.
