You don't live in the Meatpacking District anymore? You did on Saturday.

Just tell your Mom she'll be much happier in Scranton.
Sadly, though, today's parents don't listen to good advice.

Honey, obviously the quality of YOURS isn't too good, or else you'd be able to ask your son these questions.

If either of you actually existed, of course. Because according to your previous posts, you live in the Meatpacking District. You need to get better at this trolling thing if you want people to bite.

This, this, this, this!!!!

I already made clear that my son lives in the Meatpacking District. I'm visiting.

I wish people wouldn't be so thick.

Marilyn, you strike me as a woman who is old and bitter and has bought into the moral fad of feminism. Women are to embrace their femininity, not reject it.

Elderly black, hispanic, asian, and white women live in different neighborhoods. You know this.

4.) Yes. There are many observant Catholics in city politics. Cardinal Dolan is one of the best known Religious figures in the US.

5.) There are many, but I think that unlike DC you will find just as many B'Nai B'Rith and KofC establishments due to our large Jewish and Italian populations. All three of these fraternal orders have aging populations.

6.) I can only guess based on trends or even stereotypes but if you mean "quiet and safe" I think your best options may be in the more suburban parts of Queens or Staten Island. So many other considerations I couldn't answer not knowing about transit needs, budget, etc.

Good luck!
Thank you for your good answers!

My son mentioned Staten Island too. I'm going to check it out. The Staten Island ferry is free. Paul Newman used to live there.

I'll continue to play along- this thread is an interesting sociological exercise.

There are a lot of drug users on Staten Island- check some of the threads on CD.

I'm afraid that you will never be happy in New York because of the attitudes that you hold. Your son lives in the Meatpacking district which near Chelsea and the Village. Don't tell me that you have never noticed the variety of people around the area. You might be surprised to find out what your son's neighbors are actually into (you might even be surprised at what your neighbors back in Scranton are into!).
