450K?!? This has to break the record by far the previous one was only 90k JESUS that's how bad we know the affordable housing situation is in NYC.
So for each apartment there's about 2k people that applied.
However, you do have to consider the fact that many are cut based on not meeting income guidelines or bad credit/police records. But still... there's an insatiable (SAT vocab word √) demand for affordable housing in NYC, and not enough supply.

I think a lot of people apply knowing they don't qualify just to see what happens. That really wastes everyone else's time.
The number 450k seems to be too high. Hard to believe it. However, my log nr is 65k so , indeed are many ppl who applied, but it was a hot ticket. Lucky these who get the call. Maybe they will inform us how the process goes. Thanks

In more than one previous lottery my Log # was over 90K. Considering those were less desirable properties AND the press coverage these lotteries are getting, I could believe this number. Maybe they will get the idea to change the system and make people pre-qualify for certain categories. Then only people in the category can choose to apply for each individual project. That would cut down on the overhead considerably.
Does anyone know when the building will be done. I would assume at the end of the year.
