Amazon space for 42nd Street would be good. On the flip side port authority can use the money purchased for the bus terminal to build a new terminal and expand path train service.

Extend the #7 subway line out to the Meadowlands likely with a stop in Secaucus Junction. Build a new stadium there. Use the income from a land lease for the existing bus terminal, the land covered by it's ramps, and decks over the Lincoln Tunnel approaches to float bonds to pay for the extension. Let NJ Transit build a new bus terminal at the Meadowlands. How asinine is it to bring 8,000 diesel buses a day into midtown?

I don't think they'd want their HQ to be in the post industrial boonies of Brooklyn. Maybe some of the spill over back office space.

Lol
NYC is the heart of the most powerful metro area in the most powerful country in the world.

It's not important globally?

LOL

Some of the commentary here is plain bizarre.

While I don't think NYC will ultimately be the site (if they want NYC they may as well go to Newark or to a lesser degree Boston), posters are just spouting nonesense in this thread.

Yes, it's not that important globally. Truthfully, it's not terribly important domestically.

NYC is never able to push legislation through Congress, pretty much no NY elected official becomes President (Trump never held elected office).

Washington, DC, where the political power is is far more important than NYC.

Two of the nation's biggest banks are headquartered in SF (Wells Fargo) and Charlotte (Bank of America). The internet has changed the world of finance and of financial services, leading to the death of many financial firms from NYC.

NYC has no real power outside of NYC truthfully, whether domestically or internationally.

This is utter nonsense. NYC has the second most corporate headquarters in the world, only behind Tokyo, but ahead of London, Hong Kong, and all others. It's also the second ranked world financial center, only behind London (and we'll see how Brexit effects that), ahead of Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, etc..

So combining the two categories, NYC is the world's most important business center.

If you truly believe what your wrote then you're a fool.

9/11 put the country into a recession. The bankruptcy of Lehman (and fall. Of AIG and Bear) triggered a global financial crisis.

What planet do you live on?
