Mr.t's blowing smoke because he's going out of business. He's nervous. One of three things will happen: We'll get their work, he'll take ours or another private will buy him out. Wouldn't be surprised if it's #2 or #3. He has a large crew of illegals and is well connected...always has been. The little guys in the industry have been all bought out by the main players in the past two decades. He'll most likely get picked up by action, iesi or five star and that's the last we'll hear of him. His dumps will get picked up by wm. I'm more worried about our routes getting cut and guys getting laid off. Anyone seen nietvam?

The guys who were laid-off in the 2000’s would probably disagree with you.

Budget cuts combined with failing Organics program. Sounds like we’re heading in that direction again.
History loves to repeat itself.

Budget cuts coming for sure.... not sure we’re in lay-off territory , but we’re well within hiring freeze territory. And for the person who said DSNY doesn’t do layoffs.... ummm what? ... and for the newest guys in fear of getting laid off.... it def would suck, but youre the first ones hired back when hiring resumes.
