lol. Weather wise this has been a brutal year. I actually remember this winter... Getting off of the express bus, walking BRISKLY down the street in the pouring rain with the wind howling, and trying to walk and drink a cortado to stay warm. Now we're miserable and sweaty. We've had only a handful days where it's been really pleasant.
It is supposed to be nicer today (Friday 7/27.) But I woke to the smell of an old ashtray and thought to crack open a window and in came a blast of wet air...but etter than the stale smoke smell I sucked in overnight.

It is VERY humid. I was going to pick up a few things at the WF in TriBeCa before heading to the office but I will go to one closer thus avoiding the sauna that is the subway.
Can you believe it? It feels like 90 degrees out ALREADY. I already went to Whole Foods and got breakfast from Le Pain Quotidien so inside I will remain until it's time to go home.
We are headed for Union Square to join a friend for lunch. I DREAD that station. While convenient it is always as hot as Hades.
Usually when I stop there I buy a few hard Amish pretzels (Martin's) at the Green Market...best pretzels on Earth, and also the most expensive.
But in this awful humidity, pretzels suffer.

Yeah, Union Square is horrible, though it does have those fans, but they are usually filthy. As much of a germophobe as I am, I block all of that out and stand under them. Personally I would take the bus down there. I'm going to TriBeCa tomorrow to do my major grocery shopping from Whole Foods for the week, but I am going dirt early and will be back home before 10:00. Monthly Vitacost order was just sent off, so I will take parts of that order home over the week so as to keep the load light and my sweating to a minimum, and the rest will stay in my office until I need it. I get things like polenta, pasta and farro, and boy are those bags heavy.
