Chances are someone is trying to cover something up because the tourist was from Boca which means he had to have some type of money to live there cause Boca isn't cheap to live. Why didnt anyone performing toxic tests on him to see if he had anything else in his system...
Let's not jump to conclusions. The guy was a VP for sales for a media company. He probably had a pretty good salary. I just checked one bedroom rent for Boca Raton and it was $2700 (I'm sure there's a range but that was what I saw). No reason why a VP for sales for a decent company couldn't be earning enough to live comfortably in a $2700/mo apartment.

If we go by your logic, then any resident of NYC who runs into trouble in another state should be suspected of all kinds of nefarious activity, just because they live in an expensive city.

His bro and family are responsible for his death. They needed to control this drunk fool.
Yep.

The comment clearly said "IF" and that comment was based on the fact that the tourist was from Boca Raton where they DO have the stand your ground law. Meaning chances are if his ass was in his own state he would have not gotten drunk, not bang on multiple cars, not punch people in the face, and be in his situation when someone retaliated against his behavior.

It was an accidental death. He got into a fight, got hit, went down and suffered a brain injury in the process. If you know you got a glass jaw then don't start fights you cant finish. Famous line "Don't start no ****, wont be no ****". There was no intent to kill the man so Jones wont do time, maybe probation, loose his job and then the family try to sue him in civil court for money he most likely don't have.

Either way Jones ruined his life because some drunk guy went on a rampage and he decided to confront him.

Absolutely. Well said. The man ruined his life by choosing to react in a confrontational manner.
It is hard for anybody to hold back from striking someone who deserves it but it comes with even
greater patience and understanding and less risk to pick up the phone instead and call 911.

In theory yes, patience and keeping a cool head could have saved two men's lives during this tragedy but unfortunately no one is perfect. The blow from the victim's head and the concrete caused the man's death, not the punch. Are people not supposed to defend themselves? I don't know. This is one of those unfortunate tragedies that lost one mans life and ruined anothers.

I guess you never met every last person I've personally known in the past 25 years, none of whom would in a 100 million years punch someone out, EVER.

I guess everyone you knew in the past 25 years never grew up in an environment where if they "backed down" from an altercation in their neighborhood and someone saw it happen, it opened up the door for others to try bully them because they knew that individual will always back down.

Come try that **** in the south Bronx back in the 90s's or even now and see how you will survive. I had to fight for just about everything growing up for the moment I started going to school in this country. Back in elementary school the bigger kids in the same grade use to try take the chocolate milk from the immigrant kids that had accents, or they use to cut the line because they only had a limited supply of chocolate milk. Of course they got away with it against the 1 or 2 Asian and Indian kids but when they tried it with the few West Indians, we fought back! It became such a problem that if you touched someone else chocolate milk there will be blood, and this was elementary school.

Now fast forward that junior high where they would try take your Tims, or your northface jacket, or your jordans, or anything that you had to bust your ass getting good grades for your parents to get it for you, or you saved up Christmas and birthday money from family members to buy it on your own....

This created and environment where if you backed down you were literary food for others.

Coach thought he could get away with it. He wouldn't dare to do this in daylight or in front of others. He needs to serve time in jail for manslaughter.

I never had "Tims", or a Northface jacket, or Jordans. And if I did, nobody I grew up with would have ever dreamed of trying to take them away from me. But that's neither here nor there, because our past is in the past, and we are now adults who have to behave responsibly and not allow our past childhood experiences affect our current daily lives.
