I haven't been on the L yet since it all started. Just going based on social media postings which have some 48 minute wait times lol. Good to know it's not all that bad though!

So my question to you all is how MUCH has it converted back to the old gritty NYC ? Is there a resurgence of nightlife and dancing ? After hours joints ? People sitting on stoops smoking weed or out in the park ?

Drug deals out in the open ?

Is it anything close to the good old days or does it have any potential to go back to those days ?

$10 sandwich still the norm ?
Nothing close to resembling the good ole days
$10 sandwich? NO. Try $20.

The city has been overrun with tourists with illegal hotels everywhere you can imagine. It feels as if I'm living in a foreign country.

Where are 20 dollar sandwiches the norm? You must live in a super rich part of Manhattan where rich people stuff is to be expected.

I may have embellished a bit about $20 sandwiches though. Closer to $15. East 30's not a rich area, but has become extremely transient. Hence, ripoff prices. Back in the 90's was an entirely different story.

All of Midtown rents are priced for rich people
