I think there will be issues with it for a number of reasons - but like with citibike I will learn to adapt as will the Queens driving folks who I think this will impact the hardest borough wise.

Bloomberg was a Republican out of sheer political convenience to gain a spot on the ballot in 2001; he is a leftist and had been a Democrat prior to that. And he dumped the party label when it was no longer convenient for him.
Let's be clear, though: while Bloomberg was championing tolls and congestion pricing, it was actual Republicans in the state senate who stopped him from implementing his scheme.
