My prediction... nothing will change. There has been and always will be an ‘us vs them’ mentality within the police department. Most cops have no integrity to begin with.

I don’t think we are losing the police when It was NYPD who rendered this decision.

I know who I was talking to... and he doesn’t speak for the entire department, whereas commissioner does

The commissioner speaks for the Mayor and his ilk. Keep living in your little bubble.

Well cops who don't do their jobs should also get fired. If they don't like it they don't have to remain cops. Simple isn't it. Thousands of good men and woman would enjoy taking those jobs. It's pretty simple. Don't like your job some one else woild.

Is easy to say someone want the job. Try and be one, and let us know what it is like to be an officer.

Just saying no one merits a job for Life if you don't want to do it. Do I believe the job is stressful, yes. Do I believe officers deserve excellent pay and benefits, yes. But officers must earn the public trust we give them. If they want to sulk because they are upset and not do their jobs, then they can do something else. It's a booming economy if they are not happy they can move on like every other professional does when unhappy with their profession. Just what I feel. But I also feel bad cops being fired will be better for the good cops that remain. But that's it for me. Take care and if your a cop, be safe, be well paid, and retire well, if your a good cop, you get my prayers of support

That's why being a good cop is tough because often you're told to do what the top brass says then you have to the fall when it backfires. If you don't do it, you'll get reprimanded and you have to become the captain's personal slave or chauffer. Not an easy job when you gotta put in 18+ years to collect a full pension and not get caught up with drugs or prostitutes.

I"m sure O'Neill was told by Bla to can him. The NYPD rendered this decision in name only. This came out of city hall.
