WARNING GRAPHIC VIDEO IN LINK:

https://nypost.com/2020/03/08/asian-...ed-hate-crime/

I fell like recently a few here said that the jump in crime was either fake, fear mongering or blown out of proportion.

yeah.

What was it that someone said? "It's only been two months!! How can you measure a crime increase in only two months?!?!" (Or something similar)

Opinion:

I dare all you posters to watch this video.
The one thing that turns my stomach is the blind eye of people.
The nerve to say there is no crime wave,no increase in crime , or it's just one person.

Look at the escalation in that level of crime.
It's not about taking bikes any more.
It's more about taking your life....................

So you guys are just going to post every single crime that happens now?

I'll worry about a crime increase when the both of you stop going outside

If it's too dangerous for you guys to go about your normal lives, then maybe I will reconsider.

That's one hell of a low standard

Why would you want to post that?

And what makes you think that the video refutes the idea that it's out-of-proportion fear-mongering? It doesn't do anything of the sort. And, yes, valid crime statistics are accumulated over years, or decade, not months.

Why can’t he? It is a NYC related topic and meets the forum rules.

Dude. Stabbings have ALWAYS happened and likely always will. With or without bail reform.

This appears to be two Chinese, most likely both foreigners from mainland China. While gun violence is unheard of in China, knife stabbings is the preferred method of deadly assault. It's quite common. Living near Flushing, Queens, I know many mainland Chinese, and they've all told me this. The perp likely knows his victim. Seldom do Chinese attack total strangers in the streets of NYC.

I suggest you leave Far Rockaway and explore other neighborhoods and other countries. Living in crime and filth is not normal. Stop trying to normalize and trivialize it. This is why black and brown neighborhoods are so ****ty. This sense of apathy. One crime committed is too much! Acceptance of any type of crime helps to keep the values of our neighborhood down and makes it less desirable.

How the hell are you a mod with the type of responses you give on the board is a mystery to me.
