If CV was really such a threat that half the tables at McDonalds have to be closed off, the schools would be closed too. I got measles, German measles, chicken pox, and mumps all from school in the years before they had the vaccine. But now parents can’t be inconvenienced about child care while the rest of us must have our lifestyles completely changed.

De Blasio has now mentioned a city “lockdown” as a possibility.

It is actually (according to the doctors on that board) a well known fact that ibuprofen in particular has a deleterious effect on a person's immunity. They found in 4 young subjects who ended up severely impacted in Intensive Care that they had taken ibuprofen after an initial fever.

I googled about this and found an article published in the NIH's medical library website;

Ibuprofen and other widely used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs inhibit antibody production in human cells.

The introduction includes this:

The implications of this research are that the use of widely available NSAIDs after infection or vaccination may lower host defense. This may be especially true for the elderly who respond poorly to vaccines and heavily use NSAIDs.

I'm sorry I just don't understand this. If they would test everyone for every virus, many people would have them. You can't stop the world from running. It's the way it is. Some people get viruses and some don't. Some recover and some don't. I am saying this as someone with a weak immune system. The long term affects, the financial stresses, the depression people get also effect people's health. So when people can't pay their bills, stress over it and become depressed and their immune system goes down then what....everyone will be sick.

Mention of the French warning in this Guardian piece, this a.m.:

French authorities also warned that widely used over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs may worsen the coronavirus, as the number of cases across the country jumped to 4,480. There have been 91 deaths, and France is one of several countries across Europe that have gone into lockdown.

Health officials point out that anti-inflammatory drugs are known to be a risk for those with infectious illnesses because they tend to diminish the response of the body’s immune system. The health ministry added that patients should choose paracetamol because “it will reduce the fever without counter-attacking the inflammation”.

If Bla and Cuomo try to shut down the city six figures worth of NYers need to pack Times Square to protest.
