There are 750,000 residents in the 14th Congressional district of NY.
There were 353,466 Registered voters in the 14th Congressional District.
Of these 235,000 are registered Democrats, an overwhelming majority. Clearly the Democratic candidate will win.
Of these only 62,000 voted in the Democratic Primary that allowed AOC to run as the Democratic candidate.
Of these, 46,000 voted for AOC.
I don't blame the 46,000 people who voted for her; I blame the more than 300,000 people who didn't vote for someone else.
Absolutely, and when you analyze the makeup of the district (my district), in a normal World, she could have never been elected.
Once she won the Democratic primary, she was a shoo-in. Democrats make up about two-thirds of all registered voters. It's important to have an alternative viable strong candidate in the Democratic primary.
And half the population are hispanic.

People vote for AOC because she speaks to their interests. That's how politics work, folks. Retired politician Peter King is known for his controversial stances on, say, Muslims. But he spoke to the interests of the folks in SI and Long Island. It's how politics work. As for AOC's district being mostly Hispanic...define Hispanic? And how do we know how many of those Hispanics CAN vote? I don't agree with AOC on much...but she's not afraid to speak her mind and be controversial. I don't agree she has added to the destruction of NYC because I can't point to policies with her name on it that has made NYC worse-off. If I'm wrong, let's see some congressional bill links.

AOC was the coup de grace for the loss of 50K Amazon headquarter jobs that NYC was going to get. Thanks in part to her, the city lost 50K high paying jobs, billions in tax revenue and economic activity.
And still, the fools voted her back in because she “speaks her mind.”
Usually, it's easy to dismiss politicians as just lying, thieving criminals, but this crop seems to be possessed by demons.
