I get pissed knowing my "share" is being used to subsidize other peoples transit rides. Those people need to pay there share also, and they're only paying a minor fraction of it.

Different issue than traffic violations and advocating people running lights and breaking laws.

There are lots of things I don’t like subsidizing or paying for , but I don’t run red lights because of it

I put duct tape on mine to ensure it won't fall off.

What about cars from out of state where it is legal to use license plate covers? I would assume NY couldn’t ticket them unless they obscured the plate number, just like it is ok to drive in NY with only a rear plate if the car is registered in Pennsylvania because it’s legal there. Or does NY expect you to remove the plate cover while driving in NY?

Technically your car must comply w/ the vehicle code in the state in which it is operating. Only real dick cops cite for things like that (tint is another example), unless its obvious that its being used to skirt tolls, cameras, etc. Its good PC though...

Anything making your plate not readable is illegal in New York regardless of what an out of state car is allowed in their own state

The red light and speed cameras are just another way of squeezing drivers for money. The drivers need to start hitting back. Taking out some cameras would send the right message.
