If Buffalo just had 2-3 new/modern style 30-50 floor buildings thrown in then nothing upstate could even touch it!!

I would guess the Watergate Apartments at the foot of Hertel - 12-14 stories, or thereabout. Assumption Church spires in nearby Black Rock may be slightly taller.

Not really.

Three 50 floor buildings would look out of place in Rochester since Rochester's skyline is on a notably smaller scale than Buffalo.

Buffalo's skyline has the size and scale for a three additional 50 floor buildings to look aesthetically pleasing.

I don't like to debate something as subjective as appearance (which is all a matter of opinion) but whatever..

I think Buffalo is going to see a big boom in the future. I see it having more skyscrapers and putting itself on the map.

So far, only plans for the annex only, which will take a year or two. No word on the tower itself.
