Funny I don't approach platonic friends or people in general with this mindset. It actually takes me longer to warm to a potential friend and so for that reason the high of having a new person in my life doesn't happen. However with romantic encounters I've been guilty of the leap before think scenario. Much like friendships tho,beyond hookup situations overall tho I prefer the getting to know phase that leads to rich long term relationship. The whole drop someone after the novelty wears off is lost on me. I can talk to anyone but to consider them a friend takes more and the whole hit and quit lifestyle some have just confuses me. Sad thing is usually these types complain the most of never having anyone close in their life
