Memories of childhood....growing up poor, friendships that are forever, and courting. Especially courting. The love letters, the broken promises, the times it made me laugh, the times it made me cry. The times I thought it was going to be forever, only to be gone too soon. Life was simple in the 80s and 90s.
I'm dating myself here, but I remember when the milkman still delivered milk to the house in these glass bottles. My older brother and I would sneak out and around to the back of the truck and he always gave us these chocolate milks. It was the only time we ever got chocolate milk.
Speaking of childhood memories....I was at 5 Below last night, and lo and behold, a vertical display card with Mexican jumping beans! I had them when I was a kid, remember the click clack of them against their little plastic case all night, lol. I thought they stopped selling them a long time ago, I assumed for sanitary or import rules. Of course I bought some, they were a bargain at $2.00, lol.
