Pine to Vine hasn't posted since the beginning of November. He grew up in Delaware, worked in Houston for a number of years - and probably other places - and retired to Philadelphia. Pre-pandemic his elderly parents still lived in DE.

Yes indeed. Truly a good guy. I enjoyed chatting with him. He will be missed.

Me too! It’s not the same on here without him. I miss him on the UK forum too.

Hey Karen...

I used to live in London. LC & I were in touch until the Grenville Tower fire in 2017, which was around the corner from his apt. He left C-D at that time, being fairly distraught as he'd lost some friends in the fire... several friends lost parents... some friends had unaccounted for kin. So, he said he'd be off for a bit, but back soon.

It was about 6-mos later that he returned to say he was okay & that he'd return in a month... he was responding to a previous "Which C-Ders do you miss?" thread & someone who'd asked about him. Haven't seen him since. I'm assuming his life changed... job, apartment, perhaps relationship status... & he's having a lovely life offline. It would be nice to have him say 'hello'. I'm hoping he's now married with a baby & working a great new job, living out of London... he'd be 36 now.

And, for those of you oldies, I don't recall if others recall some that I do... I was here way back in 2003, when the site began... lurked for years before posting.

I miss FistFightingHairdresser's posts. From Scotland, don't recall if it was she or he... I think the latter. Hasn't been around since 2007... I see s/he's not a member, but do recall frequent verbal tussles s/he had with some posters. Greatest moniker ever.

And, Cosmic, the salty contractor from Boston who sold his house & moved to OH to buy a house & renovate it. Once he did that, he disappeared about 4-5 mos later. This was around 2006-7. He'd spend 6-mos in FL with his nephew to fish & avoid the winter, then return to OH. I lived in Boston at the time & was renovating a Victorian near him, so he was very helpful with advice... I did all the work on my own, so sometimes needed someone to run ideas through.

There were a number of helpful, lovely posters I recall from the San Diego forum back in 2011 who haven't posted in a long time... can't even recall the correct forum names, so it's hard to search for them.

But, TonyinSD used to live in my bldg in downtown San Diego. He hasn't been around since 2012 & went offline when he met a new girl (yea!) & was moving a few streets away. I hope he's had a great life since... enjoying time offline. Very thoughtful, funny guy.

And, one I don't miss, per se, but recall as there was a bit of mystery around his posts... EarlyRetirement hasn't posted since 2017. He mainly did a lot of posting about his many successes & achievements (some which sounded a bit lofty, so a few had raised eyebrows), then announced his early retirement didn't work out as planned & he'd be around less often, as he'd have to return to a job, rather than enjoying the many fruits of his many internat'l businesses. Never quite bought the whole story, but it was amusing to wait for the dropped humble brags, names, places & tales in his posts. Still, he meant no harm.

I still see a lot of familiar names in the SDiego forum, but can't venture over there cuz I'm heartbroken that I had to leave SoCal & have nothing local to share any longer.
