You resurrected a month old thread just to lecture people on how you think they should reply to posts?
Why not??? is it the time factor that upsets you???
A week, a month..years....it don't matter. We humans wonder and have questions about life...many of them the same as previous generations.
Also, people can indeed be very insulting to those who feel and think differently than themselves.

OP, I have only gone to one wedding in my life and that was my mother's and stepfather's 2 years ago and that's coming from a man who doesn't like weddings period. They're expensive, time consuming, and quite overrated tbh. But I love my mother so I went and went home afterwards. If you don't want to go, then don't.
In my opinion, it's totally OK if you don't want to go. There's no rule stating that you must go. However, they may not be there for you in the future since you didn't show up to their wedding
You can do what you want of course but typically people do these things to show support to loved ones; it's supposed to be a fun thing actually...free food, drink, and merriment? Oh my god what a nightmare! Jk. Who knows, you could even meet someone or even just laugh at relatives and friends make asses of themselves when drunk on the dance floor. Seriously, weddings are a good time.
It comes across as if you have a problem with your brother or his wife
