Your issues are not germane to this subject. The guy was separated and living in a house. He got kicked out of the house for no reason that we are aware of. He then rented another house and this is where the OP is renting a room. It has nothing to do with male/female inequality and the justice system.

We don't know anything about the terms of his divorce except that his ex-wife lives in another country.

The children don't speak English so they might even be immigrants.

We don't know what that country is and maybe it has an excellent divorce policy that favors the man.

okay tell him you will pay 500 dollars a month for rent and that you will charge 40 dollars to watch the kids every friday night. Just try to find someone who will watch 3 kids on a friday night for less than 40 dollars. Sounds like a good trade you will come out ahead.

OP, I only really read your 2 posts in here. This guy & this whole situation sounds like a huge mess, so to me, it's not about fair or unfair. It's like you're tied down without even being married yet. I'd get out fast, without even feeling guilty about leaving him to pay the rent somehow. This is HIS mess & his responsibility, not yours.

You need to be the footloose & fancy-free 23 yo that you are & not wrapped up in this mess. Ay, ay, ay. I only feel sorry for his innocent kids in all this who have an incompetent, idiotic father who can't plan & think things out MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than this. You mean to tell me he has not one relative to help him out with this?!
