Here you go. More info on dog repellents than anyone probably could want.

Good luck!

The question has been answered several times over, but... I laugh at anyone who suggests trying to "talk it out" with thugs. Such naivety.

I'm thinking about installing "animal ultrasonic repellent"
What's stopping you from doing this? It's a harmless solution.

This. Check your city ordnances, OP, to see if there's a requirement to keep pets on a leash when they're not in a fenced yard. If there is such an ordnance, you can call the cops. A big dog like that can be dangerous. People always say their dogs are gentle, but dogs can be unpredictable.

Amazing.

Almost all the answers are to "out thug the thugs" or call the law on the thugs.... Well, and there's the "talk to the thugs" crowd.
Then there is the "spend hundreds of dollars" crowd.
And the "I will never give in" crowd.

I say pick up the poop, smile and wave and hope they never think of you in their spare time. Because real thugs have lots of spare time.
But it's now 9 pages later, and we still never heard again from the OP.
I'm throwing the BS flag.

To whomever questioned my recommendation of spraying the dog with a garden hose spray nozzle:

1. From personal experience, it works. Most dogs dislike being sprayed while doing their business.
2. It is more humane that shooting the dog with a pellet gun or a round of saltshot. Or poisoning it.

A neighbor asked my Dad the same thing "....what should I do? Neighbor's dog crawls over the fence and craps in my yard?" To which Dad replied "...well, just you crawl over the fence and take a dump in their yard"

Or, do like my Grandpa... at the time, a huge, 6'5, muscular man who's "resume" included blacksmith, railroad worker, machinist, etc.....a guy would walk his dog every night and stop to leave a "present" under Grandpa's favorite tree. One night GP was at the ready with a shovel.....he shoveled it up and slung it right on the guy's back----hey, you forgot something! Neighbor never came back.....

Of course, that was a time when men could be men, nowadays everything is settled through courts, etc....

I also recommended that as a last resort, IF he could catch the dog in the process.

Spraying water on a dog is not harmful at all. I love animals, dogs in particular, and would never hurt one. Spraying water on him is just a deterrent. He won't like it and may stay away in the future.

Spraying water on a dog is a known and accepted way to try to stop a dog from doing something that's bad...like if he's in a fight. Spraying the two dogs with water may interrupt the fight, if it's not a bad fight between two big dogs.

It's in dog training books, as well. If a dog won't leave something alone in the house, or is barking too much, spritz him with clean water from a spray bottle. It's harmless.

Sounds like the neighborhood doesn't have back yard fences. That means there will ALWAYS be a problem with animals going into other yards.
