The NY Times just praises people who are liberal, and criticizes people who are conservative.

This opinion is pure political bias; this has nothing to do with being a good place to live.

More ranting and raving from the liberal elite. If anyone reading this thinks that Northern or midwestern states are more 'tolerant' than the 'South' I suggest a few weeks of travel.
Whether it be the most segregated schools in the US ,New York state or movies about Jackie Robinson it's a myth of how perfect the rest of the country is. A hint about Jakie R there were no Major league teams in the South then.

Saw a bumper sticker this morning. Happiness is a Yankee heading North.

You can talk against the validity of the article all you want. Especially with its dismissive view of the South altogether. But go down to the almost 1000 comments beneath it. Those points raised there and the people raising them carry much more weight.

Actually it was the "editorial board" and there is a link to the board page with all their names (and photos) and bios at the bottom of the article. So your point is?

Great Editorial. It is very much a sad state of affairs right now in North Carolina. While I understand the cut in the unemployment benefits, dont think it was necessarily the right approach. Bottom line, there still will not be enough of the good-paying jobs to go around for everyone and lots of people will be underemployed.

Be sure you register to vote right away. You can do it at any public library or when you get your NC driver's licenses, just do it ASAP--it's the kind of thing people tend to put off until a major election, and the Legislature is likely going to seriously curtail the ability to register during early voting (as well as shorterning early voting). Also there are school board elections this October and the last time there was "just" a School Board election, the same Right-Wing deep pockets who created our current legislature helped get a clown-car majority on the Wake County School Board that, similarly to this article, got Wake county in the national news for the wrong reasons.
