I was just thinking-
When do you think skyscrapers will start popping up all over Fayetteville?
According to this it has a pretty large population-
Fayetteville Demographics & Statistics
(265k)
Which isn't surprising. I think the tallest building in the city is the systel building which is i think 15 or 20 floors.
Offtopic:
I found this Very interesting-
Durham has 360k people?

That's more then Greensboro!

Durhams an old Tobacco city where the need to centralize businesses near the markets were high (back then).

Fayetteville has a strong military population and has only recently seen large population booms. Durham also has had the benefit of having major universities and research facilities within their general area, driving the need for the newer buildings (plus proximity to Raleigh).

The Greensboro area also has twice the MSA of Fayetteville.

There's some beautiful land around Fayetteville, no need for all of those tall buildings! Enjoy the sandhill region for what it is. I'd love to visit to play some golf.

Yeah, but atleast maybe 5 skyscrapers 20+ floors so the city can get a skyline. It will also make city visitors impressed when they go downtown because of the tall towers and most people in downtown are multi-millionaires who drive Mercedes AMG, Bentley, and I've seen a few Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. Downtown is expensive! I went to a pizza place downtown a while ago and people were leaving hundred dollar tips.

I will admit that I don't hang out in Fayetteville, but I used to go there pretty often.

I never saw anything that screamed "rolling in money" about that area.

Ever.

The website with those stats is a crock. Durham does not have 360K people. Fayetteville's stated population of 265 is also wrong. For giggles, I looked up Raleigh and it said that it had 491K people; that's also wrong but not as far off as the stated Durham population.
Durham has 229K as of the latest Census estimates and Fayetteville has about 202K. Interestingly, Fayetteville has a tad more land area than Raleigh with less than half the population. I wouldn't hold my breath for skyscrapers in that low of a density anytime soon.
Currently Fayetteville's tallest building is 11 floors and 168 ft tall.

Because it annexed Fort Bragg to greatly inflate its population numbers.

Apparently you have never tried to go to a popular restaurant on payday weekend.

With all the empty commercial buildings and office space in town I don't think anyone will be building skyscrapers any time soon.
