Since they are both called "___ Carolina", there is something of a rivalry between NC and SC, just so one can say "we are the ____er Carolina", but it's all in fun. Nothing serious. Why are you starting so many odd threads?
I like the question. I would say that there is a slight rivalry with both.
UNC calls themselves "Carolina".. U of South Carolina calls themselves the same... but we all really know which one is really thought of as "Carolina" when you are out of the two states...
Other than College rivalries, I think NC and SC beaches rival. People love Myrtle Beach. To me, it has the feel and character of Vegas, I don't care for Myrtle beach. I prefer NC beaches and prefer NC beaches to the more built up VA Beach area too. I am not sure what else NC and SC rival with.
NC and Virginia are rivals to a certain degree, and are larger rivals than NC and SC. We are very similar states, and since VA is north of NC, many people in VA seem to think that they are more progressive. I lived up in VA for a while and live in NC now. Both are great states. NC has better mountains and beaches, in my opinion while VA has DC and Richmond..
Just a rivalry in general. Like have you ever heard someone say "Man, I dislike Virginia" or "I HATE people from SC because they can't drive." Anything along those lines. I'm only asking because for the most part, growing up around Raleigh, I NEVER heard anything along these lines and was always a bit curious.
