Let's get back to the OP, my guess (I was a vegetarian myself for 16 years) is that a description of how they kill chickens is not really on topic regarding where to get vegetarian food for Thanksgiving.

Sorry about that TBT - I went off on a tangent...

But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't touch Summering's SKUNK thread...

lot of off topic drivel and drabble about Pa critters and everyone seems to be enjoying the stories told

btw - what made you give up the total vegan diet and go back to eating meat?

My concern with tofu isn't so much the flavor; it's the healthfulness of soy. Has anybody else read Nina Planck? Fascinating stuff.

I was trying to whittle down on amount of meat for a while, but I need a higher protein/lower carb balance, and I'm running out of things that I don't react to. I'm on a 6 month elim/rotation diet thing, and then we'll see.

I think it's nice to have a civilized discussion about this, and realize that different people have different needs.

If you are in Pocono near the Crossings outlet on 611, then Smuggler's cove might be a good idea for seafood, steak and some pasta options. Obviously they are famous for seafood. We just went there yesterday and it is great.
