There is a lot of helicopter activity between Langely and Downtown. Gives civil servants a chance to pretend they are important. Or it could be just ghetto birds (police copters), then you get the new copters following, then you get the medivacs............

Morning rush hours are awful if you live near any of the major roads, noisy traffic helicopters hover for hours. When we lived in Vienna, near rt66 and the beltway, mornings were very noisy because of the helicopters.

So thats why 66 is so bad in the mornings...

People slow down to look up at the helicopters....

That's a Ghetto Bird, not one of the major downfalls of existing underneath a major government flight path.

Do they even have Ghetto Birds here? I swear I hear something low flying over SE every now and then, it rattles my windows.

I live fairly close to 66/495 and there are occasionally helicopters that just hover over that area. They are almost certainly the traffic copters.
