Yep, PWC. Two are in my name, one in the wifes name. We got separate bills for all three vehicles.

The bill for my 2002 GM SUV with 200K mi is $160. The bill for my wife's 2010 Lexus RX is $1,150! I just ordered a 2013 Benz to replace the GM and the cost on that is $70K, so I guess the tax bill will go up next year...

Finally got mine. Apparently they think my car increased in value since last year. Their NADA guide that they go by says so but I can't see how that could be reality, I put a lot of miles on my car last year. Still doesn't qualify for the high mileage adjustment but still....ugh.

People are keeping their vehicles longer and that's probably helping the "value"

Funny thing.....about value, it can be extremely subject depending on the viewers perception.

Friend of mine bought a used 2009 MB ML350 at the beginning of the year, that bad boy came at the tune over $800+ .

Bought a 2011 BMW 335is... the tax is a shock as I never noticed the tax relief is only on the first $20k - in Loudoun Co. A value of $42k is documented - the 6 month tax is $680. What a rip!

Good thing my Explorer that weighs twice as much, burns almost twice the fuel, rips the road up with a big V8 AWD is only taxed is approx. $350 a YEAR.

I'm typically not one to complain about stuff like this either. but the OP is right a $600 tax bill is not necessarily on an expensive car. I have a 2 old/cheap cars, and a new 2013 base model american car (finally traded in my 10 year old sedan). my tax bill (for 3 cars) is well over $600 and my cars aren't anything to write home about.
