Thanks everyone! I'll just wait it out a little longer and when the time comes to pay the wife's I'll be sure to look up and pay the one for my vehicle as well if I haven't gotten it yet.

Thanks. That was helpful. I haven't received my bill and was curious.

Each of our cars are up about $20 over last year's bill (not counting the reg. fee). $260 for the '07 and $378 for the '11.

Just looked more closely at mine. 560 for a 2007 diesel eco mercedes e-class. I swear it's higher than last year. They assessed it at 24k.

All I know is we can't get relief on my car, even jointly owned, because I am a VA resident. (My car is registered here and we pay all the VA taxes on it). We are FFX County/unincorp Alex.
Here's a link to the Fairfax County's "Taxation of Military": http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/dta/military_taxation.htm
Bottom line - husband's car should be exempt and yours might also because of a change in the law (see Military Spouses Residency Relief Act)

That doesn't seem too bad. Our 2011 Ford Escape is $378. Is a 4cy Escape valued that much higher? Must be.

$654 for a'12 Grand Cherokee, assessed at about 28,500. I think the Camry is around $150ish and my motorcycle was $20 for 6 months, totaled it at the end of May. We're in Prince William.

That's the final kick in the pants with my car saga. It wasn't my choice to change vehicles; the criminal who injured me and totaled my old car made that choice for me. I merely wanted to replace with the same vehicle since it saved my life. Ugh.
it would have been a lot more but hybrids still get a pretty nice PP tax break
