2 automobiles and 2 motorbikes at $330 for the bunch. One of my bikes is so old they don't charge anything but for the silly county sticker that they don't even have the courtesy to print and send me

Mine is for $178.94 for my new 2008 Honda Accord and I looked it up online for Arlington. It was 330.94 before the relief.

I think we're all seeing increases because the value of used cars has risen over the past year. Many of the financial publications have been commenting on this increase. AS for me, I wish I'd thought about this tax before I bought my "new to me" Volvo this year. The tax was almost $800! OUCH!!!!

It started earlier than the past year. You can thank "Cash for clunkers" for the initial hit. Instead of people trading in their cars which would be sold in the used market, the "clunkers" were scrapped and could only be sold as spare parts. This took a lot of vehicles off the used car market and reduced the inventory, so the prices went up. You have to love the unintended consequences.

People are keeping their cars longer, this too has lowered the inventory of used cars available.

I hope the folks who put down our friends in Maryland are accounting this in their tax calculations.

Even with VA's property tax, MD still has higher gas taxes, sales taxes and income taxes. I think I'll put up with the property tax in VA.

Don't even get started on car insurance. One of my managers is moving from Silver Spring to an orange line stop in VA and he is saving $400 off of his car insurance

When I moved from MD to VA and had three cars, my taxes were still cheaper overall in VA. And that was before they started with any of this tax relief.
