Who are the "they" you are referring to? How does this comment have anything to do with Silver Line ridership?

The Silver does go through DC, you know. However, I'm also confused as to why THEY (Virginians) would be paying to improve DC?

The concept of a dedicated regional tax to support Metro would make sense though. An irrational fear that your taxes might be used to "help" someone else is after all kind of silly.

Core improvements are improvements to all lines. ALL LINES GO THROUGH DC. We can't be provincial about this. If the DC metro fails more often at metro center, it hurts commerce in Virginia.

I agree with you, but that isn't the same thing that ijye085 was saying. If it was, it wasn't clear to me.

That's the problem right there - The metro system sucks because if I need to get from Dulles to Bethesda I have to go through DC. What we need is a network to interconnect the lines OUTSIDE of DC.

I would love to see a poll of NOVA posters that actually ride Metro regularly. Id guess at least under 10% based on exaggerations I read all the time. And I'd guess about 0% live within walking distance of a station.

After looking at the posters again, they are the same reactionary right wingers. Some things never change. I wont name names because im sure ill be censured.

Stay woke Tysons. These boards are tough sometimes.

This alone doesn't make the system "suck", it just means that Metro will always have room/need for expansions to be made. Once the MTA Purple Line is done in Maryland I'm sure there will be a resounding effort to try and link the entire circle of DC suburbs into VA.

Some people simply hate mass transit because they view it as some sort of "liberal" construct.

Some people expect mass transit to be built from where they presently live to where they presently work, regardless of other factors. Good for a laugh, but not much more.

Up until last year, I commuted to Arlington from Reston twice a week and I remember it was always packed during rush hour. So much so that I often had to let 2-3 trains pass before I could even squeeze myself into the train. I suspect the low ridership was from weekend count.
