I have the upmost respect for law enforcement. I’m a veteran so I can relate somewhat to law enforcement. But I don’t support and don’t have respect for officers who are racist, homophobic, or sexist. Blue lives do matter but I support the good cops out there who don’t deserve the scrutiny that they are facing.

Do you think how the person in the video refused lawful orders in a dangerous situation was right?

A veteran of what? I am a veteran of the US Army and some of the things you have stated anyone that was in for over a year would know not to say because of the sensitivity training.

I served in the U.S Air Force for four years active duty and four years in the reserves. I’m just wondering are you questioning whether I’m a veteran?

It's a dangerous way for the suspect to try to earn some easy money by playing with cops.

But seems to me, if the driver didn't want to get into a confrontation with the police, then he should've just done what they had asked by getting out of the vehicle, instead of baiting them to remove him from the vehicle. I doubt the police would've done anything different if the driver were a white guy refusing to get out of his vehicle when asked. Therefore, I don't see racism here. Instead, I see a citizen refusing to cooperate with law enforcement. But again, I don't know the reason why he was pulled over to begin with.

Contrast this incident with what I observed outside my own house one day: I heard a siren, looked out my window, and saw a car get pulled over by Alexandria City Police.

The police officer went to the driver's side. Soon, more police cars arrived. Eventually, there were 5 police cars. The driver wasn't getting out of the car. I don't know why. I didn't hear any shouting, no demands by police that the driver comply with orders "or else". Just a situation of a driver pulled over for something that must have been for more than getting a traffic ticket, because police didn't just give him one and go on their way. They obviously wanted him out of the car. So they waited. One police woman took the lead in standing by the driver's window, talking with him. Over 45 minutes passed. Eventually, he voluntarily got out the car, was handcuffed, put into a police car, and taken away.

No screaming. No "respect my authority!" ego trip. No throwing people around. No kneeling on the neck.

^^^^Just a question regarding post #36 --- They waited more than 45 minutes for this person to get out of the car. With that in mind, how long do you think they should wait around for someone who was disobeying their order? Would it be acceptable for them to spend their entire shift waiting? Or should they spend more than an entire shift ?

So admittedly you really do not know what happened here?

I know that the Alexandria police didn't respond in the way the state trooper did in the case of a driver who didn't comply right away with getting out of his car.

Wasn't that obvious?

The point is, there are alternatives to resorting to violence.
