We're Canadian and would love to move to Hawaii and not sure is it possible? I am have CPA and a professional accountant with many years of experience. Would like to know how difficult to find an accounting job? How do I get a work permit?

My advice to you is to visit Honolulu and get your information first hand. Just try to take a weeks vacation and get information about what you need.

From the research I've done, most companies wont even look your way until you are physically living on the island to avoid wasting time with day dreamers and so on.

My wife and I are moving our family back to Oahu next summer and we are just doing what we can to make the transition as easy as possible. Saving up money, making sure we have our resumes up to date and so on.

Have you ever been to Hawaii or are you feeling kinda frisky and up and moving? haha

We had been to Honolulu on a cruise and just love the island, the weather and the people. Since then we've dreamed about this paradise island

Yes we're thinking of taking a few weeks vacation and stay in Oahu to see where we would like to settle.

Is there any advise we would really appreciate it!

Find out what the visa and work permit requirements are, there's probably a website for them. We had some Canadian friends who started a business over here. They had to hire so many local folks as part of their owning a business permit and when they weren't able to hire enough local folks they were deported back to Canada. It was a pity IMHO. I don't know what the requirements for getting a job if you are a non-US citizen but I know there are some.

I think you would start at the US State Department website.
