I figure that's a good a reason as any.
And it's the home of the Flyers!

^haha yeah, UD is a great school.

Honestly though, Ohio has a lot of cool metro areas. Each is unique, and I personally like them all for entirely different reasons.

In the spirit of the thread, I will list my reasons

Cleveland - University Circle, Little Italy, Cleveland Heights... Definitely could live around there haha. Especially University Circle, I wish Dayton had an area that was like it. Has excellent mass transit systems, and it's on the lake! The emerald necklace is nice too. It's a beautiful city, has great cultural institutions, good nightlife, and a great vibe. What's not to like?

Columbus - So... Many... Cool... Neighborhoods! Short North, Arena District, German Village, Victorian Village... and the list goes on! COSI is great for kids, the fair is always a good time, and so is the Crew and the Blue Jackets. OSU is nice (guess I can't wear my Michigan Blue there though), Easton is very cool for being a mall as well.

Cincinnati - My other hometown haha. Union Terminal is unmatched, the neighborhoods on the east side are very cool, and it really is a city that is a conglomeration of small towns. If you haven't thoroughly explored the neighborhoods, it's worth the trip. And I grew up on the chili (Gold Star specifically) so of course I am a fan of it! Can't imagine life without it, really...

Dayton - my real hometown. I like it because I know where it has been and the amazing contributions it has made to this nation. And I firmly believe it can happen again in the future, if I work hard enough and encourage others to work hard enough. Because Dayton is large, but small enough that an individual can have an impact. That alone may be my favorite thing about Dayton.

Akron - The rubber city! Downtown is very nice, the University of Akron is awesome, Portage Path is arguably one of the most beautiful streets in the nation, and Highland Square is arguably one of Ohio's best neighborhoods.

Toledo - The glass city! Beautiful skyline, Tony Packo's is really good, and it's on the lake! But I think the best view is from the restaurants across the Maumee from downtown. The hockey arena is very nice, and the amount of energy centered around their warehouse district and downtown reminds me a lot of Dayton. Cool place.

Youngstown - Haven't been through Youngstown as much. Never actually been in city limits, I don't think, closest I ever got was Boardman. But it looks like a nice place, probably one of the most pristine skylines around. Fortunate to have avoided most of the '60's and '70's era brutalism.

I live between Dayton & Columbus, but have to go with Cleveland. It has the qualities I appreciate in a large American city (even if it's no longer so large)...history, grit, classic architecture, ethnic neighborhoods, major sports teams and great breweries. Also working in the medical field, I have to acknowledge the greatness of the CC.

Cleveland, though I've had friends who recently visited Cincinnati and say it's a great place now. I only visited Cincy once in '04, and it seemed beautiful but dead, and I remember hearing all the nightlife was in Kentucky. But it seems to have really come into its own now, much like Cleveland.

Didn't love Columbus, though it seemed easily safest of the three, and that bookstore in the German village was great.

Cincinnati isn't necessarily as prosperous as Cleveland or Columbus., either.

This poll will probably track with the population distribution.

No, they usually track with the number of active posters from each city. If you look at the post counts for each, it would be...

Cleveland
Cincinnati
Columbus
Dayton
Akron-Canton
Toledo

The current vote count is...
Cleveland
Cincinnati
Columbus
Dayton
Canton
Toledo-Youngstown
Akron

This supports that people mostly just vote for where they live.

This is best forum representation. This is not a census.
